Oct 11 Robin Ventura has decided to retire. The two-time All-Star and six-time Gold-glove infielder batted .243 with five home runs and 28 RBI for the Dodgers in 2004. For his career he had 294 home runs, 18 of which were grand slams—the third most in baseball history.

Hello, I'm new. I love Robin Ventura. I first noticed him back when he was a Met. I loved it though when he was a Yankee though. Wish he still was :(.

I thought I'd do the honors and make a post since no one has recently and I want to get some type of life in here! So here is a question for you all: Have you ever seen Robin in real life? I had the honors of going to a Yankee game and afterwards watching the players leave the stadium. It is probably the closest I will ever get to Robin and was such a thrill. He was really sweet, no one stopped for autographs or anything but he was one of the few (along with David Wells and Roger Clemens) who even acknowledged the fans existence. He smiled and waved at us all which was nice. I didn't get a picture in time but I DID in fact get the back of his head.

I want to hear your Robin encounters!

*waves* Hello! My name is Lauren and I just joined. I've been a Yankee fan for a little over 3 years now, and have been a Robin fan since the beginning of my baseball days. He is a wonderful ballplayer and just seems like an all around good guy. I was so upset when he was traded but I wish him the best of luck in his career regardless of his team. I hope this community gets busy, I'd love to meet more Robin fans!!

Hola, I'm new here, but not to the Yankees or Robin Ventura. I've been a Yankee fan all my life, and I wish he was still one. If baseball were a democracy, Steinbrenner would've been impeached for that trade. However, it isn't.

Much love to you Robin.
